Eighth Annual AFCP Meeting

We are excited to announce that our 8th Annual Association For College Psychiatry Meeting will occur in person on Friday, May 3, 2024 in New York City. This full day business meeting is free of charge for college psychiatrists and will consist of opportunities to network, connect with mentorship opportunities, engage in advocacy, and learn about trends in college mental health.

Seventh Annual Meeting

We are excited to announce that our 7th Annual Meeting will occur IN PERSON on Friday, May 19, 2023 in San Francisco in advance of the APA Annual Meeting. This will be a full day business meeting, with plan to discuss association updates and plan for future activities. Exact location to be determined.

The AFCP will host its 6th annual meeting on Friday, June 10, 2022 virtually. Details to follow.

Fifth Annual AFCP Meeting

The 5th Annual AFCP Meeting will occur on Friday, April 30, 2021 via Zoom. Once again, we will be collaborating with the APA College Mental Health Caucus for this meeting. We look forward to your attendance.

4th Annual AFCP Meeting

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 4th Annual AFCP meeting went virtual and occurred on April 23, 2020. Thank you to all who attended. We appreciate the enthusiastic participation on issues of the impact of COVID-19 on college students and psychiatric practice. We continue to work to formulate a mentorship program in collaboration with the American Psychiatric Association Caucus on College Mental Health. We plan to hold more frequent meetings to support this mentorship program and other topics in college psychiatry. Our 5th Annual Meeting will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021 in Los Angeles, California prior to the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting.

Updated: Virtual Fourth Annual AFCP Meeting

To better align with current public health recommendations surrounding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), we have transitioned our Fourth Annual AFCP Meeting to create a virtual gathering space. This meeting will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 12pm EST/9am PST to 3pm EST/noon PST. The first hour of the meeting will be open to all psychiatric physicians, residents in psychiatry, and medical students interested in careers in psychiatry. The second and third hours of the meeting will be a closed business meeting for members of the leadership team.

4th Annual AFCP Meeting Announcement

The 4th Annual Meeting of the Association for College Psychiatry will be held on April 24, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania prior to the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting. Psychiatric physicians, medical students, and residents/fellows in psychiatry are welcome to attend. This is a full day meeting that will include business items in the morning and opportunity for drafting publications and open dialogue in the afternoon. You do not have to be registered for the APA Annual Meeting in order to attend this meeting. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to provide CME at this time.

3rd Annual AFCP Meeting

The third annual AFCP meeting was spent addressing business items. Later in the day, the psychiatrists present for the meeting divided into workgroups to create position statements on various issues.

2nd Annual AFCP Meeting

During the second annual Association for College Psychiatry Meeting, certain business matters pertaining to the organization were finalized. The mission statement was finalized, the vision statement was drafted, and regional representatives were established.

1st Annual Meeting of the Association for College Psychiatry

The first meeting of the Association for College Psychiatry (AFCP) Occurred on May 19, 2017 in San Diego, California. The association was formed during this meeting in response to a group of psychiatrists in college mental health wishing to form a group that would allow for more advocacy for psychiatrists and college and university students.
